CANBERRA MARKETER APPOINTED INTERNATIONAL JUDGE - MEDIA RELEASE

A Canberra marketer will help judge one of the world's biggest PR and marketing competitions.

Bob Crawshaw from Weston Creek's Maine Street Marketing will join judges from India, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand to judge entries from the Asia and the Pacific Region for the 2007 Gold Quill Awards.

'The Gold Quill Awards recognise excellence in business communications, PR and marketing', said Mr Crawshaw. 'They attract communications strategists, corporate, government, and not-for-profit communicators, agency executives, photographers, graphic artists and students from around the world'.

The Gold Quill Awards are arranged each year by the International Association of Business Communicators which is headquartered in San Francisco and has over 13 000 members throughout the world.

Successful entries from the Region will compete against others from North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. The global awards will be announced in New Orleans in June 2007.

In 2004 Maine Street Marketing became the first ACT agency to win a Gold Quill Award. The award recognised the agency's role in the Australian Government campaign, Harmony Day. It was one of 34 awards recognised for excellence that year from over 1000 entries.

Bob Crawshaw is the Immediate Past President of the Canberra Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.
