Six Free Workshops in 2006
As part of our ongoing commitment to our community, we will work with the Lions Club of Canberra Lake Burley Griffin to provide six free marketing workshops in 2006 for selected community groups.
Each no-cost workshop will help a community group to tell the public about what it does, get public recognition for volunteers and attract more members.
Workshops are tailored to the particular needs of organizations and include:
- A framework for community promotion
- Knowing what to say, who to reach and when to speak
- Outreach tools, tips and tactics
- Developing a timetable and building a budget
- Measuring community communications
After attending a half-day workshop, organizations will have an outline marketing strategy for the next 12 months.

The workshop was over subscribed and those who were fortunate enough to attend have given excellent evaluations.

On Saturday, 11th February, 2006, the Canberra Seniors Centre Inc was fortunate to participate in a Workshop on Marketing the Centre conducted by Maine Street Marketing. Members of the Centre attended the Workshop and were delighted to find that the Workshop was conducted in an interesting, informative and professional way. People attending felt that the information was relevant, that they were given suggestions and actions which can be used in the future to market the Centre and that the whole process was easily understood.
The Centre thanks the Canberra and Lake Burley Griffin Lions Club for making this Workshop on Marketing available to the Canberra Seniors Centre Inc.
We are very grateful for the opportunity to take part in the Marketing Workshop.
